From Terry & Alice:

Greetings to all my Trojan classmates. It's been a long time coming and a long time gone. Before some us became Trojans we were Knights first. And before that snotty-nosed Pee-Greens haulin'ass home after our last day at Palomar hoping that we wouldn't get smeared with lipstick from our future fellow Knights.

From Sally:
Wow the last 40 years let me see can I think that far back! Well right out of school I married. Had three wonderful kids Andreana (38), Andres (35) and Monica (32). For several years I worked for a grocery chain (Apha Beta) as a front end supervisor. After a few years I moved to Escondido, Calif. and landed a job for Price Club (Costco). Started out in membership then moved on to be a floor supervisor. But though out my life I always told myself I would retire at the age of 45 no matter where I was in life. So after 14 years with Costco the day after my 45th I was on the road to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. I bought 3 acres with the most amazing view to the arch, named it "Bella Vista". Sold my home in Escondido and settled in the land of paradise. After a few years in Cabo I met my husband Lou. I also became mom to his two kids Troy (41) and Claudine (38). Together we built 14 palapa vacation homes on the 3 acres. We then turned around and bought 1 1/2 acres on the beach in San Jose del Cabo know as the East Cape. We designed and built our beautiful home in which we are now living in. Not only do I wake up to the most amazing view but every day I embrace my life and thank God how lucky I am to be alive after my crazy years. I'm proud to say that I have 9 grand-children and 2 more on way. And yes I love playing grandma.

I went to La Pinata with Mari Rachow Mathews, Patty Gilhuber Alkema and Denise Durrant McClendon.
From Karen:

Hi!  Life has been fun and busy. Except for 2 years when I lived and taught in Germany with my husband, Rich Orr, I have llived and worked in SD County.  In fact, I just finished my 34th year of teaching for the Sweetwater District!  After SDSU and being roommates with Paula Jenkin Chudoba and Vicki Jones-Pittman, I started teaching at Sweetwater High (health and PE),  Germany (PE, History), National City, Southwest Middle, opened Eastlake High (92-95) and back to Southwest Middle where I have been the longest!  School was always so much fun (CP elem. CP Jr. and CP HS) that I kept at it!
My husband is a retired 5th grade teacher from Poway. We have llived in Tierrasanta for 26+ years where we raised Kerri (26) and Justin (24).  All is well with us as I hope it is for alll of you.  Looking forward to the reunion and get-togethers for years to come.

I was sitting in the living room with my parents and two brothers. I will never forget it. It was hard to imagine that someone could ride up in a rocket and then walk on the moon. It shows that anything is possible! Follow your dreams!

Where were you when Armstrong walked on the moon?:
I was lucky enough to be in Baja California, on a surfing trip, on July 21, 1969 ... and I am very happy to report that forty years later, I am still surfing!
Where have you been for the past 40 years? Upcoming plans?:
After high school I bounced around from school to school (UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego), then nine years later I finally graduated from UC Davis. I made the best decision of my life while at Davis, when I married a coed named Mary Volkert, from Lodi. After getting married and graduating from UCD, we moved to Marin County, where I went to divinity school (San Francisco Theological Seminary--Presbyterian). After finishing SFTS, Mary and I moved to Corvallis, OR, where I worked for two years at First Presbyterian Church. In 1983-84, Mary and I (and our then infant son, Jordan) spent a year in Americus, Georgia, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. That one year stint turned into 13 years with HFHI (six in GA and seven in CA, Santa Cruz and Sacramento). In 1986 our second child, Sarah, was born. After 13 years with HFH, and about 100,000 miles of travel for many of those years, we moved back to Davis and I began working for UC Davis Extension, as the director of Business & Management courses. [A master's in divinity is a very versatile graduate degree!] Mary and I have been in Davis for almost 14 years. Our son, Jordan, went to Claremont McKenna College, and now lives in Boston. Our daughter, Sarah, went to the University of Oregon and continues to live in Eugene, OR.

Where were you when Armstrong walked on the moon?:
I was at home in my living room looking after my brothers and sisters. My uncle had come down from Los Angeles to see my parents but they weren't there. They had gone deep sea fishing earlier that morning. The funny thing is that they took a portable t.v. with them. Just a little thing. When Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, everyone on the boat was watching on my parents t.v. What a day!
Where have you been for the past 40 years? Upcoming plans?:
Oh wow, what a loaded question. Well, after changing my major from history to medical record administration and transferring from Pacific Union College in Northern California to La Sierra College in Riverside, I ended up at Loma Linda University where I received my undergraduate degree (BS) in Medical Record Administration (now Health Information Management). My first job out of school was at Glendale Adventist Medical Center in sunny CA. After two years at that job I moved to Illinois to be an Assistant Director at Hinsdale Hospital. I haven't returned to California to live since. Instead I have lived in the states of Illinois, Ohio, Arizona, Kansas, Oklahoma and now Louisiana practicing my craft. In all of these places I have directed the Medical Records department. I must admit that it has been a wonderful life and a wonderful career. I found the perfect job to satisfy my bossiness and my pendant for organizing things. My claim to fame is implementing two electronic medical record systems, living through Katrina (I lived at my hospital for three weeks!), lecturing, writing professional articles, teaching college, directing choirs, and producing three of the loveliest girls on this earth! I'm planning on completing my masters in Health Information Management, will be recording a webinar for HIM professionals on the topic of e-Prescribing in a few weeks and getting involved in a lot of projects at work that help me to maintain the illusion that my job is secure! (I don't think that's true for anyone these days!). In general enjoying life!!
From Indra:
I can't believe I'm on this side of forty years.  I look in the mirror and wonder who is that person!  I'm glad to be able to connect once again with the folks I grew up with.  I've looked through the picture album and those high school pictures sure bring back a lot of memories.  People I haven't thought of in (frankly) years are bringing a smile to my face.  I don't know who thought of this idea but what a great one!  I'm sure you're as eager as I am to get caught up on everyone's news.  Well, here goes . . .
